Rising gas prices are pushing small businesses to tipping point, trucker Ingrid Brown has claimed.
She told Jacob Rees-Mogg that the Biden administration has overseen crippling fees for fellow truckers, putting many on the verge of going out of business.
The White House has spoken out on its “determination” to ease bills as it seeks to assist Joe Biden’s prospects of reelection in 2024.
“The fuel prices right now are really our biggest struggle”, she told GB News.

“Fuel prices are something that are really affecting our independents today.
“Many are going out of business because of fuel prices, and when you look at fuel prices, you think, ‘so you want to charge more’.

“It’s hard for an independent and for carriers to charge more for fuel whenever the rates are based off the consumer demand and off of the fat.
“Right now, the carriers are having to eat this huge exorbitant and how the fuel prices are going up and aren’t able to pass that along.”
Biden remains locked in a battle for public favour with doubts lingering over his ability to govern for another four years.
The US President is pushing to drop prices across the board, announcing his government will use the Defence Production Act to improve the domestic manufacturing of medicines deemed crucial for national security.
In a statement, the White House said that “robust supply chains are fundamental to a strong economy”.
“When supply chains are smooth, prices fall for goods, food and equipment, putting more money in the pockets of American families, workers, farmers and entrepreneurs.”
Trucking veteran Ingrid Brown, who has been a commercial driver for 40 years, said the fuel price crisis has been exacerbated by low rates.
“The fuel prices right now are our biggest struggle and trying to get those down when the rates are even lower than what they are because of supply of consumers.”
Biden’s biggest foe in his bid for reelection is Donald Trump, who is keen to ramp up oil production in the States.
He is reportedly set to drop Biden’s landmark climate law and increase investment in fossil fuels, all while rolling back regulations aimed at accelerating the transition to electric vehicles, if he is elected next year.
