Hundreds of masked demonstrators laid siege to a downtown Minneapolis hotel on Friday evening after it was rumoured that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents were staying at the establishment.
Protesters descended upon the Canopy by Hilton on Park Avenue on the third consecutive night of unrest following the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good.
Swarms of protesters smashed windows and repeatedly chanted profanities against ICE as terrified guests sheltered inside the hotel.
Demonstrators pounded drums, blasted horns and blew whistles and trumpets in an effort to create maximum disruption.

"They need to get the hell out of our city," a pink-haired protester who gave her name as Drey, 27, said during the unrest.
She claimed to have spotted a van containing Ice agents parked nearby earlier that evening, adding: "I don't know for sure they are here but we will do whatever it takes to keep Minneapolis safe."
Whether any federal agents were actually present inside the besieged hotel remained unclear throughout the evening's events.
Dramatic footage from the evening captured a group of protesters forcing their way into a separate downtown venue called The Depot.

Video showed at least 10 individuals entering without permission, hurling chairs and tables across the space, whilst others filmed the chaos on their mobile phones.
One man could be heard repeatedly shouting "Get the f*** out!" as people streamed into the building.
The exterior of The Depot was daubed with spray-painted messages reading "F*** ICE," with protesters cheering as fresh graffiti was applied in red paint.
Around 100 State Troopers arrived at the scene around 10.30pm local time, forming two columns to advance down Park Avenue and clear the area surrounding the Canopy Hotel.

Officers armed with batons and weapons capable of firing rubber bullets and gas confronted the crowds, who began to retreat.
At roughly 10.45pm, police declared the gathering an unlawful assembly under Minnesota state law via loudspeaker.
A small number of protesters remained at the junction of Park and Third Street South, banging drums and shouting "shame" whilst encircled by hundreds of officers and an armoured Swat vehicle.
Following multiple warnings, authorities moved in and made arrests, with 14 people detained in total, according to the Daily Mail.

The shooting that ignited the protests occurred on January 7 when Renee Nicole Good was confronted by ICE agent, Jon Ross, during what the Trump administration described as a protest against the planned detention of Somali migrants in the area.
The 37-year-old mother of three was killed when the agent discharged three rounds, with one penetrating the windscreen and striking her fatally.
The Trump administration maintains that Ms Good deliberately accelerated into the agent.
