Daily Wire host Michael Knowles has taken aim at the US left in a fiery rant, claiming Israel is a “stand-in” for their decades-long “hobby horse”.
Speaking on GBN America, the outspoken political commentator says the message behind the chaotic pro-Palestine protests all point to the same sentiment.
It comes amid disruption in America at colleges and universities across the country prompted by pro-Palestine demonstrations on campus.
Asked by Jacob Rees-Mogg about the “nasty underbelly” of “antisemitism” at the protests, Knowles said the US “has not had to deal” with the issue too much before.

“There is some truly targeted anti-Jewish attacking going on here”, he said.
“The kind of language we’re hearing is not even specific to Jews. We hearing arguments against settler colonialism, imperialism, Western hegemony.

“It’s all the same attacks we hear about the West and the same racial attacks we hear against white people.
“It seems to me that the reason the campus left has taken such a strong stance against Israel is because they are broadly opposed to western civilisation and the state of Israel is merely a stand-in for their decades long hobby horse.”
Knowles added there may be a “silver lining” to the chaotic scenes in America as it may force parents to think twice before sending their children away to the affected educational institutions.
“It might make parents think twice before sending their kids there, up to and especially the most prestigious universities”, he said.

“These institutions are supposed to be repositories of the great triumphs of our civilisation but in recent years they have squandered that great cultural inheritance and have become a grotesque caricature of what they once were.
“Students and parents, really, are having to pay ever more money and leave without an education.
“Not just without a professional education, which was never really the point of the liberal arts, but also without a liberal arts education.
“The bright side is we’re seeing an emperor has no clothes moment for these elite institutions of supposed learning in the West.”
Police have been force to break up encampments and make arrests on US campuses in desperate bids to defuse the demonstrations.
Heated debates about the Israel-Gaza war and free speech have rocked US campuses since the Hamas attack on Israel on 7 October.
The act of terror prompted Israel’s campaign in Gaza which has seen the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinians.
Joe Biden is one of many to condemn the scenes on campuses that has seen classes disrupted.
He condemned “antisemitic protests” as well as “those who don’t understand what’s going on with the Palestinians”.
