An illegal migrant accused of raping up to 17 women in Nevada has had multiple charges reinstated after pulling out of a plea deal.
Mexican national Carlos Nava, 49, is set to stand trial in Las Vegas over the string of violent sex attacks which is said to have spanned for over two decades.
Despite being deported at least eight times, Mr Nava has repeatedly managed to re-enter the US illegally.
The Mexican national's was previously arrested for offences relating to battery and sexual assault.

According to court records, the 49-year-old entered into an Alford plea one count of sexual assault with a deadly weapon on July 30.
The plea deal, which allows a defendant to accept prosecutors likely have the evidence to convict without admitting guilt, saw eight other charges against Mr Nava dropped.
However, the Mexican national pulled out of the plea deal on the day he was due to be sentenced on September 25, forcing prosecutors to reinstate all the charges against him.
Clark County Deputy District Attorney Julia Barker told the court that six potential victims had been identified so far, with a further 11 still unknown.
Two of the suspected victims are believed to be children.

Speaking about DNA evidence against the suspect, Ms Barker said: "It’s really hard for someone to maintain ‘I didn’t do this’ when his sperm is in places that indicate he probably did."
The Clark County Deputy District Attorney also revealed that police officers discovered 17 pairs of underwear "that were folded, kept in a backpack, which also had latex gloves in it and tied up with a rubber band".
Mr Nava has been facing a host of charges dating back more than a decade, according to a court document obtained by Fox News.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police documents also reveal that investigators were still searching for more victims as recently as 2022.

The documents also note that the illegal migrant was spotting in a white truck after an alleged incident took place.
Mr Nava's next court appearance is due to take place on October 9, with a fresh trial expected to follow.
The 49-year-old is currently being held in custody at Clark County Detention Centre.
According to the advocacy group Fwd.us, over 10 per cent of Nevada residents share a home with someone who entered the US illegally.
