Donald Trump could release critical documents pertaining to the assassination of John F Kennedy if he wins a second term as president, according to a US political commentator.
Phil Kerpen joined Patrick Christys on GBN America to speculate how prominent a role RFK Jr could play in the Trump administration should the 78-year-old emerge victorious in November’s vote.
It comes after the nephew of the former president bowed out of the presidential race, in which he was running as an independent candidate, before quickly endorsing Trump.
In his first term, Trump failed to release the documents that could put an end to the mysterious circumstances surrounding JFK’s death when he was just 46 years old.

Asked by Patrick if RFK Jr’s endorsement means we might find out who killed JFK, he said: “That’s a tough question.
“Whatever is in those files, we have had a lot of presidents since then. For whatever reason, Trump decided not to release them in his first time as president.

“Maybe it would be different this time around given the fact RFK Jr might play a role in getting him in the White House.”
Kerpen went onto speculate on what sort of role RFK Jr could be handed should Trump emerge victorious in his face-off with Kamala Harris.
The environmental lawyer has already signalled his desire to deal with health matters, and Kerpen feels he could play a role which relates to the World Health Organisation (WHO).
“The rumour I have been hearing is he would be designated the US representative to the WHO”, he said.

RFK Jr irked his siblings by showing his support for the Republicans given the family’s long standing ties to the Democratic Party.
They even issued a joint statement disavowing the 70-year-old who is no stranger to controversy given his past comments on matters like the Covid vaccine.

But Kerpen told Patrick he feels RFK Jr is the family member staying most true to his father and uncle’s legacy by backing Trump.
“It’s pretty interesting - the rest of the Kennedy Clan disowned him and are saying they are still committed to Kamala”, he said.
“It’s really RFK who is carrying on the tradition of his father, Robert F Kennedy Sr and his uncle, President John F Kennedy.
“They really were pro-free market, pro-tax cut and pro-civil liberty Democrats.
“The Democrat Party has moved so far away from that now that you have someone following the tradition of his father and uncle now completely unwelcome.
“The Kennedy Clan has certainly broken with him but he is the one certainly most in line with the most famous members of his family.”
Kennedy Jr is the nephew of former President John F Kennedy, who served as the 35th president of the United States from 1961 until his assassination in 1963.
