The US has become a soft touch under Joe Biden and it needs Donald Trump to reestablish itself on the international stage, according to Eric Trump.

The son of the former President spoke to Nigel Farage on GB News America to lash out at Biden’s “failings” on the international stage.

Farage opened the topic by lauding Trump’s exploits, claiming he made “giant steps” to securing peace in the Middle East.

Trump Jr cited Biden’s decision to remove troops from Afghanistan, claiming it is symptomatic of the incumbent president’s record.

“We didn’t lose a single serviceman or woman in Afghanistan in the last 18 months of my father’s presidency”, said Trump Jr.

“He crushed ISIS and he was tough. ‘You mess around and unthinkable things are going to happen to you guys’, and he showed that.

“We were energy independent. We were shipping energy to Europe, then all of a sudden, Biden comes into office and shuts down the American pipelines.

“Now all of a sudden, we need to start importing energy from Iran and all sorts of countries around the world.

“We boost the prices, the give Russia the ability economically to wage war against Ukraine.

“How dumb and incompetent can you possible be? Americans all see this.”

Biden would point to his administration’s support for Ukraine in its war against Russia as a significant foreign policy success.

The White House in November approved another tranche of US military aid to Ukraine worth some $250m (£195m).

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement announcing the aid package that it was "imperative that Congress act swiftly, as soon as possible, to advance our national security interests by helping Ukraine defend itself and secure its future".

"Our assistance has been critical to supporting our Ukrainian partners as they defend their country and their freedom against Russia's aggression," he added.

Eric Trump is sceptical as to whether Biden will emerge as the Democrat nominee for the 2024 election.

“If you can't walk up the stairs to Air Force One if you can't walk across the room if you can't get off the stage”, he said.

"I don't mean to disparage because that's not my style. But that's a rigorous job I saw my father go through it every single day.

"It's the toughest job in the world. I mean these are real decisions every second of every single day. Real leadership."
