Two passenger trains collide in Munich - at least one dead

At least one person has lost their life and dozens more are injured following he collision of two passenger trains in Munich, Germany.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:40pm when two S-Bahn trains collided near Schäftlarn train station in the south of the city.

In a statement, Munich police said: "There are numerous emergency services at the scene, people are injured, and the route is currently completely closed.

The German news website Bild have reported at least one person has been killed, with 40 others injured.

One of the train drivers is allegedly still tramped inside one of the trains.
