An announcement was made over the PA system that the flight would make an emergency landing in Canada

A TUI flight from Manchester to Jamaica was forced to make an emergency landing in Canada after a mother-daughter duo caused chaos aboard the aircraft.

The flight, originally scheduled to depart at 9:15am on Wednesday, was delayed over two hours before eventually taking off at 11:40am.

Mandy, a passenger who witnessed the incident, told the Daily Mail that the pair had been drinking before boarding and continued consuming alcohol from the plane's duty-free service.

The younger woman, known as Angel and described as a content creator, began swearing and shouting at staff, demanding to get off mid-flight.

Staff repeatedly asked her to calm down and return to her seat, but the disruptive behaviour escalated throughout the journey.

The captain announced that due to the reckless behaviour, there would be a delay in Jamaica as the passenger would be arrested.

After the airline staff briefly managed to calm the pair, they began causing chaos again, prompting crew to strap Angel into a seat at the back of the aircraft.

Once landed, police officers boarded and arrested the mother first after she allegedly kicked the officers.

Footage posted to TikTok shows dozens of passengers clapping and cheering as uniformed police made their way down the aisle.

The mother was seen shouting down the plane to her daughter whilst being led away in handcuffs, screaming "let me go" as passengers booed.

Angel was seen smiling and telling other passengers "bye" as she was led off the aircraft in handcuffs.

Following the removal of both women, passengers on the aircraft erupted in cheers and applause once again.

The flight eventually arrived in Jamaica at 7:30pm, over six hours later than the original scheduled landing time of 12:40pm.

Mandy commented "Aww no flying for two years" and "Journey home, enjoy Canada" as the pair were escorted off.

The chaotic footage sparked numerous reactions on social media, with one viewer commenting: "Omg what a shown up for them, I'd be mortified if this was my family, why cant' people just sit and enjoy their flight instead of causing drama and delaying planes and people."
