Thousands of people are owed a benefits payout after the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) accidentally underpaid people by £2.6billion.
Fresh figures released by the DWP has revealed the Government department underpaid 1.2 percent of benefits in the year up until April 2022.

Among the benefits impacted include Universal Credit, or money given to some people to help with living costs.
The DWP reportedly underpaid a whopping £410million in Universal Credit, while it also fell a total £540million short in State Pensions, according to the Mirror.
Those claiming Housing Benefit were underpaid by a total of £210million.
People who believe they were underpaid up to April this year are being urged to act in order to claim.
