Tesco issues urgent recall of cheese product over concerns it contains pieces of PLASTIC - ‘Unsafe to eat!’
Tesco warned that the food contains plastic meaning that it is not safe to eat.

An urgent product recall has been issued by Tesco for one of its cheese products over concerns that it may contain pieces of plastic.
The retailer said the food is unsafe to eat as a result and urged customers to return the cheese as soon as possible.
Creamfields Grated Cheddar consumers have been urged to return the product if they have purchased it recently.

The Food Standards Agency said: “Tesco is recalling Tesco Creamfields Grated Cheddar because it may contain small pieces of plastic, making it unsafe to eat.
“If you have bought the above product, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund, no receipt is required.”
A statement released by Tesco said: “We are recalling one date code of Tesco Creamfields Grated Cheddar 500g because it may contain small pieces of soft clear plastic making it potentially unsafe to eat.
“Please do not consume this product and instead return any affected product to store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required.
"Tesco apologises to our customers for any inconvenience caused.”
The grated cheese which they believe may have plastic in it has a best before date of the 23rd of March 2023 and weighs 500g.
