A newlywed couple who missed their honeymoon are "not entitled to a refund", Ryanair has said - despite the pair claiming they made a "silly mistake".
The duo were unable to travel due to illness, and had not taken out insurance.
Martyn Altilar, 43, became unwell with sepsis last month, just weeks before he and his wife Melrose were due to fly to Greece.
Because neither of them had bought insurance, their 10-day holiday was wasted.

Ryanair stressed the importance of travel insurance and said the passenger was "not entitled to a refund".
Now Mr and Mrs Altilar are also underlining the importance of insurance.
The couple from Leeds said they had used all the money given to them as wedding gifts to pay for the trip to Corfu.
Mr Altilar said: "We were going to look into getting the insurance but everything just came on top of it, distractions.

Ryanair said the passenger was 'not entitled to a refund'
| PA"It was a silly mistake. For the sake of what, £50 for the insurance? It could have been a different outcome."
He added: "We were not expecting money back because we know we have messed up but we were hoping for some compassion and to potentially move the flight dates.
"There is literally nothing they can do they said."
The couple say they are £1,200 out of pocket due to the flights and the accommodation.
But Ryanair said: "All Ryanair fares are non-refundable. Therefore, this passenger is not entitled to a refund for their non-refundable Manchester to Corfu return flights.
"This passenger contacted customer service... to request a refund and was informed that same day that their flight was non-refundable and provided with the option of changing their flight dates, the flight routes or passenger names on the booking, which this passenger did not do.
"As Ryanair tickets are non-refundable, we encourage all passengers to take out travel insurance to cover the unexpected such as illness."
A GoFundMe has been set up to help the couple "have something beautiful to look forward to once Martyn is strong enough to leave hospital".
