Heartbroken mother slams ‘mockery' from Home Office as son’s abuser set to walk free in Poland after deportation

The 23-year-old received an eight-year prison term last September following her conviction for 21 counts of cruelty against children under 16. She admitted to seven charges while a jury found her guilty of a further 14.

However, under current UK rules, foreign nationals can be deported after serving just 30 per cent of their sentence.

In an emotional interview, the victim’s mother revealed she received a "bolt from the blue" email from police on Friday, informing her that the abuser would be removed from the country this Thursday.

In an emotional interview with GB News, a mother of one of the victims who cannot be named said: "The simple reality is she is being deported back to Poland having only served 14 months of her eight-year sentence.

"We haven't been given much information, but she will not be handed over to serve the rest of her sentence. She will be free to go."

She added: "It just makes a mockery of the whole criminal system. No justice is being served, no punishment."

The Home Office has reportedly told the family that the decision to keep the abuser behind bars rests solely with the Polish authorities, leaving the family in a state of "constant fear" that she will be free to re-offend.

"The biggest thing above all is she can go on to harm children," the mother warned.

"There is nothing in place, as I understand it, to stop her from reoffending."

The victim, a young boy, is said to be "full of life" but still struggles with the trauma of his ordeal, often unable to sleep without his mother nearby.

During her time at Twickenham Green Nursery and Riverside Nursery in west London between January and June 2024, Lecka inflicted shocking violence on infants in her care.

At Kingston Crown Court, Judge Sarah Plaschkes KC described how the defendant "pinched, slapped, punched, smacked and kicked" the young victims, "pulled their ears, hair and their toes" and threw them "headfirst into cots".

Munira Wilson, the Liberal Democrat MP for Twickenham, raised the matter in the House of Commons, emphasising that "clear communication and transparency is key" in cases involving child abuse.

"Yet the parents of the 21 babies abused by Roksana Lecka at Twickenham Green Nursery were given less than a week's notice that she would be deported to Poland this Thursday," she told MPs.

The Home Office told GB News: "We will not allow foreign criminals and illegal migrants to exploit our laws.

"We are reforming human rights laws and replacing the broken appeals system so that we can scale up deportations.

"All foreign national offenders who receive a prison sentence are referred for deportation at the earliest opportunity."
