The 63-year-old Frenchman enraged his nation's commentariat after he was pictured pointing a high-powered rifle at journalists

The Queen has been dragged into a row by right-wing French politician and presidential contender Eric Zemmour.

The 63-year-old Frenchman enraged his nation's commentariat after he was pictured pointing a high-powered rifle at journalists and telling them to 'back off'.

After severe criticism for his actions he widened the controversy by tweeting a picture of the Queen looking down the barrel of a gun.

Royal expert and commentator Angela Levin, speaking to GB News said: "The [Queen] is very vulnerable, she is our much loved monarch...I think it's very serious, because you should really give her more protection."

Angela Levin added that she thought the situation between Eric Zemmour and the Queen was very different, telling Patrick Christys that Mr Zemmour is known "to want to diminish" the importance of journalists.
