The soldiers demanded Putin personally address the issues they raised

Russian troops have released a video openly criticising conditions in Vladimir Putin's army, warning they risk dying from the cold "before we even get to meet the enemy."

Conscripts in the Novosibirsk region of Russia urged their family to protest their treatment on their behalf as they threatened a mutiny against the Kremlin.

Putin has been forced to rely on drafting in extra men to fight in his illegal invasion after suffering a number of military setbacks.

Western officials have confirmed that Russia is suffering from a shortage of military equipment and rations, impacting troop morale and the ability to effectively advance.

Taking a stand against the poor living standards, the soldiers demanded Putin personally address the issues they raised.

A Russian soldier speaking on behalf of more than two dozen troops seen in the video said: "It is now -25C. We have to live here, in the ice. At the same time, our leadership intimidates us.

"They do not provide medical assistance or rations until we move to these positions.

"We want the military prosecutor, the FSB and Vladimir Putin in person to consider this video address."

Russia has struggled to make many advances in recent months, with the momentum largely being with Ukraine.

Cold temperatures have also made it harder for Russians to fight as they look to gain territory.

The soldier in the video added: "We believe that such actions of the command undermine the combat capability of our army. In such conditions men will simply freeze here, and get sick.

"Who will be fighting? We won’t even be able to fight... Commanders inform us that they run out of supplies...

"They tell us directly that the money [for fighting equipment and rations] was simply stolen. And now they demand we move here...

"Our company will pass away here, before we even get to meet the enemy."

Pleading for re-enforcements, the man said the troops would now ignore orders from their superiors.

The troops would only return to the front line once they had the necessary resources, he added.

He finished by saying: "And now the frost has set in. The temperature outside is -20C to -25C... So all hope is on you, wives, sisters. Spread this information as much as possible...

"We have very little time. Our only hope is you."
