Prince William could “enflame family tensions” with an upcoming trip to the US, a royal expert has claimed.
The Duke of Cambridge is set to visit New York on September 21 to attend an Earthshot Prize innovation summit, alongside previous winners of his £50million global environmental competition.
His New York visit will come just days after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tour Britain and Europe to attend several charity events in early September.
William will deliver a speech, and the conference will be attended by last year’s winners and finalists, The Earthshot Prize Global Alliance network, heads of state, global business leaders and philanthropists.

The summit aims to amplify The Earthshot Prize’s call to speed up efforts to repair the planet.
The visit comes just months after Harry made a speech at the UN to mark Nelson Mandela Day, where he spoke out on a wide range of topics including the Ukraine war and climate change.
And royal expert Daniela Elser believes the trip could well draw further tensions between himself and his brother Harry.
Ms Elser said: “That William is now undertaking a New York climate event of his very own, and with all the opportunities to flaunt his statesman credentials, may well only inflame family tensions further."
"Whether entirely coincidental or not, this all feels like William not so much treading on his younger brother's toes but enthusiastically clog dancing over Harry's bare feet.”
She added to news.come.au: "Between the Sussexes descending on London, William launching himself on the US market and the mystery of Harry’s book all nearly simultaneously bubbling away, are things about to reach boiling point?."
