Britain is reeling from Saturday's violent mass stabbing, with a 32-year-old held on suspicion of attempted murder

Britain is reeling from a violent mass stabbing on a train.

Passengers were subjected to a violent attack on a high-speed LNER train as it departed Peterborough station on Saturday. 11 required hospital treatment.

Witnesses likened the scenes on the train to "something from a film” as seats were left covered in blood.

A 32-year-old black British national is in police custody on suspicion of attempted murder, with specialist detectives now reported to be probing the medical and mental health history of the attacker.

Now, a "surge" in police officers will be visibly deployed across the country's railways.

They are likely to be focused on major terminals such as London, Birmingham, York, Leeds and Manchester, as well as on trains on the East Coast line and in Huntingdon.

As a result, GB News is asking: Do you feel unsafe travelling by train in the UK?
