National Trust has issued a trespass notice to an adventure company with more than three decades of history.

Adventure Beyond, a family-run coasteering business offering outdoor activities within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, was told it had "no right whatsoever to enter or use the land".

The legal correspondence, sent by solicitors Birketts LLP on behalf of the conservation charity on May 22, asserted that the Trust "does not need to justify their decision."

Jethro Moore, who runs the small Welsh enterprise, has contested the notice.

He pointed to the Wales Coast Path's route through the disputed area.

According to the legal notice, Adventure Beyond had previously accessed the site under an oral agreement established during a telephone conversation between the Trust's Restore Nature Delivery Manager, Mark Underhill, and Moore on May 20, 2025.

This permission was formally revoked on March 31, 2026, via email from Underhill to Moore.

The solicitors' letter emphasised that, as private landowners, the Trust retains the right to regulate and restrict the use of its property as it deems appropriate.

Birketts LLP further cautioned that any ongoing commercial activity on the land would constitute trespass.

They demanded Adventure Beyond "cease immediately all access" for coasteering or related commercial purposes.

Mr Moore, whose family has lived in Pembrokeshire for generations, spoke of his deep connection to the coastline where he has guided visitors for thirty years.

He said: "I know every rock, every current, every cave at Ceibwr.

He added: "I've been taking people into that sea for thirty years - not just to experience the thrill of it, but to understand it."

He described his work teaching coastal safety and wildlife awareness, noting that his clients include trauma survivors and young people whose perspectives are transformed by experiencing the natural environment.

Mr Moore added: "This place belongs to all of us."

Adventure Beyond has challenged the trespass notice by arguing that the Wales Coast Path passes through the National Trust's land at Ceibwr Bay.

The company offers a wide range of outdoor pursuits beyond coasteering, including abseiling, climbing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, gorge walking, and guided walks.

The Wales Coast Path stretches 1,400 kilometres along the Welsh coastline.

It opened in 2012 and requires no permit or payment to access.

Natural Resources Wales oversees the path's management, working alongside local authorities and national parks to maintain and develop the route.
