Britons have been urged to 'check your tickets' as the deadline to claim the six-figure prize looms

The National Lottery has issued an urgent appeal to find the owner of a £125,271 winning ticket that remains unclaimed more than two weeks after the draw.

The EuroMillions ticket was bought on the Isle of Man ahead of the March 31 draw and matched all five main numbers plus one Lucky Star.

The winning numbers were 5, 8, 10, 33 and 38, with Lucky Stars 2 and 7.

Despite the six-figure prize, the ticket holder has yet to come forward.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at Allwyn, operator of the National Lottery, has issued an urgent appeal to the island’s 84,000 residents - and anyone who visited at the end of March.

“We are calling on the people of the Isle of Man - someone on the island, or perhaps a visitor at the end of March, has had an incredible win and they don't even know it,” he said.

“A six-figure win is truly life-changing - just imagine having an extra £125k in your bank account.”

Mr Carter urged people to spread the word, adding: “Check your tickets. Tell your friends, ask your family - we want to unite our lucky winner with their incredible prize.”

The winner has until September 27 - 180 days from the draw - to claim the prize.

Tickets can be checked via the National Lottery app or on the official website.

Players who have lost their ticket but believe they have a valid claim can submit a written request to Allwyn within 30 days of the draw.

If the prize remains unclaimed, the money and any interest will be redistributed to National Lottery-funded projects across the UK.

The search for the missing winner comes as Allwyn unveiled plans for its “biggest ever” shake-up of the draw process.

The National Lottery operator said players will soon have two chances to win under the changes.

Lotto players will be able to buy a single £2 ticket to enter two separate draws of six balls - with the chance to win in either or both.

Allwyn said the changes will boost players’ chances of winning from one in 9.3 to one in 4.3.

The operator has also unveiled plans for Britain’s first £1billion jackpot after striking a deal to join the world’s richest regular lottery draw, Powerball.

It would mark the first time the game has been made available outside the US, following years of talks between Allwyn and its American counterparts.

It was announced on Tuesday that National Lottery players will be entered into the main Powerball draw, with jackpots that can exceed £1billion.

In a December draw, a ticket sold in Arkansas won $1.8billion (£1.36billion), while the biggest-ever jackpot saw one player take home a staggering $2.04billion prize.
