The National Lottery is urging players to check their numbers, as their latest jackpot, standing at £3.9million, is yet to be claimed.

One ticket holder matched all six main numbers to win an eye-watering total of £3,967,428.

However, no one was lucky enough to match five numbers and the bonus ball to collect another life-changing prize of £1million.

Similarly, no players took home a possible £500,000 by matching five numbers and a Thunderball. However, two winners nabbed £5,000 for having five numbers.

The winning numbers were 9, 13, 22, 45, 46, 48 and the bonus number was 29.

Andy Carter, senior winners' adviser at The National Lottery, said: “Brilliant news, one lucky ticket-holder has won tonight's £3.9million Lotto jackpot.

“Lotto has already created seven brand new millionaires this month.”

Carter urged players to double-check their tickets and call the National Lottery if they’ve matched the numbers to collect the impressive prize.

LOTTERY LATEST:

The jackpot for Wednesday’s draw now stands at £2million.

Last week, a People’s Postcode Lottery winner nearly missed out on his £76,000 prize after he initially believed the congratulatory emails were a hoax.

Colin, 59, said his cautious nature could have cost him the eye-watering amount, as he ignored messages that had been piling up in his inbox for days.

However, upon returning home from swimming one day, he spotted a camera crew and knew it was the real deal.

He recalled: "I had two emails from Postcode Lottery and thought, 'No, this is a scam,' and deleted them.

"I drove back home, as I'd been swimming this morning, and then I saw the Postcode Lottery camera crew.

"It feels fantastic. I've just retired so it's a bonus."

The 59-year-old and his partner Gwen are among 10 neighbours who scooped part of the £1million winnings through the People’s Postcode Lottery.

Nine neighbours on the Tyne and Wear street won £76,923 each, with two others doubling their prize to £153,846 due to playing with two tickets.
