Nana Akua has hit out at an “absurd” new policy relating to trans prisoners in Scotland.
Trans women, with male genitalia, could be allowed into a female prison if they are deemed low risk.
Speaking on GB News, Akua said women’s rights are being “removed before our eyes” as she hit out at the policy.
“I don’t understand why this is carrying on”, she told Patrick Christys.

“We saw what happened with Isla Bryson, a double rapist who went to a female prison. This is totally wrong.
“If I was in charge, it would be based on biology. That’s that. If you’re a man and you’ve committed a crime, you cannot then go to a female prison.

“If you are a man who thinks they are a woman, you might be suffering from gender dysphoria.
“You may be playing the system, like Isla Bryson. Also, what about the women in the prison you are going to? Why do your rights trump theirs?
“I don’t get why someone is pushing this and trying to remove women’s rights before our very eyes.”
Scottish Justice Secretary Angela Constance said the policy would support the rights of transgender people while insisting it would also protect the welfare of other prisoners and staff.
It follows uproar over Isla Bryson, who raped two women while still known as Adam Graham, before being sent to a women’s prison.
The prisoner was then moved to the male estate at HMP Edinburgh.
The Scottish Prison Service’s (SPS) new managing transgender people in custody policy has pledged a more “individualised” approach to the matter.
The Scottish Conservatives have lamented the policy, saying it was “subjective” and “unacceptable”.
The latest figures for Scotland show there were 23 trans prisoners from January to March this year.
Previous guidance, drawn up in 2014, allowed all prisoners to be placed in facilities matching their gender identity, rather than their sex at birth.
