The mum used her graphic design skills to get revenge on her conman

A mum who was scammed into buying fake £680 Taylor Swift tickets turned the tables on her swindlers.

Melissa Love, 51, unknowingly purchased fake tickets for her daughter for the popstar’s upcoming Eras tour in London.

She was reeled in by a message on a small community group on Facebook.

The 51-year-old sent the funds to ‘Dave Shepherd’, whom she shared mutual friends with online.

However, Love – who runs a graphic design business – never received the tickets.

She quickly realised that ‘Dave’ was a Russian scammer.

However, Love warned: “If there's one lesson every scammer should learn in life, it's this, never cross a graphic designer.”

She thought of a cunning plan to scare ‘Dave’ into giving her the money back.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

The mum created fake documents that looked like they had come from her bank.

She also made false claims about the International Banking Act of 1979 in order to trick him.

She messaged him: “I have some good news. I've just spoken to my bank's fraud prevention team and they are able to run a report to look up the IP address of where your Wise account was last accessed which will give your location.”

Her friend got involved and sent ‘Dave’ a message saying they had a friend in the fraud department at Wise, a foreign exchange firm.

Love continued: “I hope Dave is picturing a gang of well-mannered English people with pitchforks and really good computer skills.

“Like Peaky Blinders but with spaniels and a flask of tea.'

This scared ‘Dave’ so much that he returned the money to Love.

“I was just so thrilled. I don't think I've ever heard of that happening before but I'm glad I gave him some sleepless nights over the weekend,” she said.
