Labour “enshrines many values and traditions of the British people”, a party MP has told GB News.
Shadow Culture Secretary Lucy Powell MP says the party hasn't always got it right when it comes to patriotism in the past.
But now, Labour needs to “relentlessly and continuously” show that it indeed does love "our country," she added.

Her comments come as the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations continue, with millions across the country commemorating Her Majesty’s 70 years of reign.
Speaking during a discussion with Dame Arlene Foster and Paul Embery on GB News, Ms Powell said: “As the Labour Party, we haven’t looked comfortable with some of the issues in the past.
“But as a party, I really do strongly believe that we enshrine many of the values, the traditions, the vision for the future and the support of our British institutions.
“That will make our country great."
She continued: “And I think I wanted to set some of that out on a weekend where we are all showing that fantastic togetherness, coming together, celebrating what is the very best of Britain that is on show for the would.
“And I agree with Paul, this is something we have to relentlessly and continuously show that we are a party that does love our country and loves those traditions and values that we hold dear.
“And we also want to see a country that has a better future ahead of it that perhaps it’s always had in the past.”
