Millions of Brits are to receive a payment of £326 from today as the cost-of-living crisis continues to bite.
A total of 8.4 million households across the UK will receive the bonus.
The payment is the first half of a larger £650 payment from the Government, with the second half being given out later this year.
The money will be paid out from today, with those eligible expected to receive their bonus by the end of the month.
The £650 payment is being given to those who claim means-tested benefits, where your income and savings are considered.
This includes those on Pension Credit, Universal Credit and Child Tax Credit.
While people on Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support and Working Tax Credit are also eligible for the bonus.
Those on Working Tax Credit or Child Tax Credit are being warned to expect their payment slightly later than others.
They are expected to receive their first payment in the autumn, with the second one coming in the winter.
