An illegal migrant who attacked and injured two security guards at an Essex migrant camp has been apprehended by police after a major manhunt.
Lancashire Police arrested Adnani Mohammad after he was found guilty in his absence of two counts of assault at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.
Police confirmed Mohammad will now be put before the courts to be sentenced at the earliest possibility.
Colchester Magistrates Court heard details of his assault by beating at the Weathersfield migrant camp near Braintree.
The hearing was told that Mohammad had been a resident at the former RAF base when he carried out the drunken attack in April 2024.
The court heard how one security guard suffered injuries to his mouth in what was described as a "very violent" attack.
Mohammed had already caused a significant amount of damage to the security office at the base during a separate violent confrontation.
Witnesses said the asylum seeker had demanded to see a doctor before launching his brutal attack on staff, punching and headbutting officers.
One witness said he swiped at an officer, knocking the body-worn camera to the floor.

He then headbutted an officer three times and kicked another in the knee.
"It looked very violent," the witness said, adding that the officers "did not do anything to provoke him, and there’s no chance it was self-defence."
Mohammed had no defence team in court as they had withdrawn previously.
A Government source has told GB News the migrant being hunted came into the UK on a small boat in January 2024.
GB News understands the assault came just four months after his arrival in the UK.
