More than 23,000 migrants have crossed the Channel into Britain this year alone

Britons are "at their wits end" after repeatedly having "migrants dumped on their doorstep", it has been claimed.

Speaking to GB News, Research Director and the Centre for Migration Control Rob Bates said Government is "passing the buck" of the migrant crisis onto local communities.

Migrant crossings are at a record high as GB News witnessed three Border Force vessels escorting boat-loads of Channel migrants into Dover harbour.

More than 23,000 illegal migrants have crossed into Britain this year alone, with numbers up 48 per cent since Labour came into power.

Rob Bates declared Britons are 'at their wits end' as more boatloads of migrants arrived in Britain today

Reacting to footage of the People's Channel of the migrants being transported into Dover, Bates said: "There's a real issue here that we have large numbers of individuals, predominantly young men, despite what Labour might say, coming into our country unfettered, unchecked and being dispersed around communities, put next to schools as well.

"As we see in parts of the country, we're then just expected to tolerate this and do not expect there to be ramifications and implications on those communities having to house these individuals."

Criticising the Government for having "no clue" on how to handle the situation, Bates stated: "I think what successive Governments have allowed to happen is they've passed the buck onto local communities saying 'we don't have a clue how to handle this situation'.

"So you're going to have to effectively see your town, your village absolutely transformed for the foreseeable future, and you're going to have to see your children and your elderly relatives put at risk."

Reflecting on the most recent anti-migrant protest in Epping outside of a migrant hotel, Bates declared that Britons feel a "sense of powerlessness" in having their concerns heard by Government.

Bates told GB News: "There is a sense of powerlessness now amongst the British public in these communities that have suddenly been expected to just tolerate 200 men that they don't know anything about just being dumped on their doorstep with no warning.

"They're not even given the courtesy of being given forewarning that these individuals are arriving. We've tried voting, we've tried showing our frustration during the proper channels, and obviously you can't condone any violence that descends into lawbreaking.

"But what you have to realise is that people are really at their wits end and they are not being given a voice when it comes to this issue."

Hitting out at the "generous asylum system" Britain currently operates, Bates concluded that the situation is "not being addressed" by Government.

Bates said: "You've got the duplicity of politicians that pretend they're actually addressing this situation with gimmick after gimmick, who haven't got a real clue about how to actually address the root causes of what is pulling these individuals to Britain.

"It is in large part because of our incredibly generous asylum system, but it's also because of our judicial system, which has an overly cautious interpretation of the ECHR.

"People are reaching the point where they think, what can we actually do to enact change?
