The farmer, who has witnessed first hand the evolution of illegal migration over 38 years, expressed frustration at the Government's handling of the situation

A farmer who has dealt with migrants on his land for nearly four decades has delivered a blunt message to the Prime Minister about the ongoing border crisis.

Chris Gadsden, speaking on GB News with presenter Martin Daubney, said he would tell Sir Keir Starmer to "get your act together" if given the chance to address him directly.

The farmer, who has witnessed first hand the evolution of illegal migration over 38 years, expressed frustration at the Government's handling of the situation.

Gadsden told The People's Channel: "It goes back nearly 40 years. We bought the farm 38 years ago. Within the first year, the police came down and asked if they could carry out a survey.

"I said, “What kind of survey?” They told me they were monitoring for migrants coming through the area. I said, “No problem, crack on.”

"They set up and stayed for a few days, but they didn’t have much success. Back then, it was just the odd few, coming in dribs and drabs.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

"But things really changed about 10 years ago. That’s when it became a proper issue. You’d see them wandering around the fields, setting up encampments. It started interfering with day-to-day life."

Martin responded: "Now it’s a national crisis. We’ve got thousands arriving on the south coast, asylum seeker hotels across the country and you’re dealing with it first hand. Maybe we should get you down to Parliament, mate show the Prime Minister how it’s done.

He said: "I’d love that, to be honest. Someone’s got to tell him. The problem is, if you don’t live with this on your doorstep, you’ve no idea what’s really going on the stress, the disruption, and the cost to ordinary working people."

Martin asked: "Alright, so let’s imagine the Prime Minister is right here in front of you. What do you say?"

Chris Gadsden simply fumed: "Get your act together."

The migrant crisis has reached unprecedented levels in 2025, with Channel crossings hitting record numbers.

According to Downing Street, approximately 16,317 migrants have crossed the Channel this year, representing an increase of more than 40 per cent compared to the same period last year.

This also marks the highest figure for any year since Channel arrivals began in 2018.

Government sources describe the situation as "deteriorating," with Albanian criminal networks now advertising crossings for as little as £2,000 per person.

This represents the lowest price since 2002, marketed as a "summer discount" to attract more customers.

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp launched a scathing attack on the Government's response earlier this week.

Speaking during Prime Minister's Questions earlier this week, Philp criticised Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner over Labour's handling of the crisis.

"She has the brass neck to claim she's got it under control, when the numbers crossing the Channel this year are the highest in history," the Croydon South MP declared.

Philp also addressed questions about the Rwanda deterrent scheme, warning Starmer's decision to scrap the plan encouraged more migrants to arrive on British shores.
