Comedian Michael McIntyre has launched a rant at the Conservative Party and Rishi Sunak after saying "I am not a political person".

The comedian and presenter took a swipe at Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Rishi Sunak and even Chris Pincher in his new routine.


The Wheel host appeared at Soho Theatre where he was cheered after stating Mr Sunak was previously Prime Ministerial material during the pandemic.

He said: "I am not a political person. I have no stance on anything. I would not dream of it."

He then said: "There is nobody in charge of this rudderless country."

His comments, published in the Mirror, are believed to be his first venture into political commentary.

He added: "I don’t want to be political but they are hiring people called Pincher who is done for sexual harassment. The whole thing is insane."

He also said: "If you’re in charge of health it is suddenly: ‘You are not in charge of health anymore, you are in defence.’ I cant call my gardener and say: ‘You are now my chiropractor.’”

McIntyre previously said he didn't know the difference between left and right wing.

The comedian is appearing up and down the country to test our new material ahead of going on tour.

He has also been spotted at recent sporting events at Stamford Bridge and at Lord's to watch the cricket.

As well as bashing the Conservatives, McIntyre jokes about cutting his family's hair and contracting Covid on his wife's birthday in his new routine.
