Meghan Markle has been put forward to receive an honorary award for her charity work later this year at the GQ Men of the Year Awards, according to reports.
The event is described by GQ as celebrating “the best and brightest across fashion, culture and politics”.
Speaking to The Sun, a source said: “Meghan has been offered one of the top awards of the evening so it’s a massive coup for her.
“She already has a close relationship with GQ due to her friendship with Vogue’s Editor-In-Chief Edward Enninful which is also owned by Conde Nast.
“Edward is very much seen as a friend rather than a business acquaintance.”

The awards were due to take place in September but according to insiders the date was changed in order to allow Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to attend.
It will be now held at the Tate Modern in November.
In 2018 King Charles III was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual event for his charity work.
He joked that he had something to “throw at the burglar” whilst on the stage accepting the award.
The King went on to tell the audience he initially thought it was a mistake when he heard he was getting the accolade.

He said: “First of all I really wanted to apologise for being wrongly dressed. I feared none of you would be able to compete with my incredibly snazzy dinner jacket.
“When I was first told of GQ magazine’s wish to give me a Man Of The Year award I felt sure it must have been some kind of mistake.
“I thought it must be some sort of ill-deserved fashion award.
“Particularly as in fashion terms I’m like a stopped clock. In other words I’m fashionable once every 25 years.”
It comes as journalist Valentine Low is set to release a new book in which he claims the Duchess of Sussex reportedly felt that she would be embraced as an icon across Britain when she first joined the Royal Family.
But, before quitting royal duties, Meghan is said to have felt "cornered and misunderstood" by the palace rules and protocols.

Mr Low quotes a palace insider as saying: "I think Meghan thought she was going to be the Beyonce of the UK.
"Being part of the Royal Family would give her that kudos. Whereas what she discovered was that there were so many rules that were so ridiculous that she couldn't even do the things that she could do as a private individual, which is tough."
