Charles Rae is concerned by the prospect of the anniversary of Princess Diana's death being 'overshadowed'

A royal expert has claimed that Meghan Markle is "overshadowing" Princess Diana's memory with a recent interview where she discussed a range of royal topics, including Prince Harry's relationship with his father.

In a lengthy magazine feature interview with The Cut, the Duchess of Sussex claimed joyous scenes at her wedding were compared to those seen when Nelson Mandela was freed from prison.

In an exclusive interview with GB News, royal expert Charles Rae slammed Meghan, questioning how Harry will be "feeling" as a result of the comments made by his wife.

He told Colin Brazier: "Tomorrow is a very poignant day in the royal calendar, it is the 25th anniversary of the death of Harry's mum.

"She's just come in and destroyed that whole thing. How must Harry be feeling that his mother's memory is going to be overshadowed by his wife and her comments?"

Rae continued by stating he is concerned by what further "weapons" Meghan possesses in her "arsenal" ahead of her trip to the UK that is scheduled for next week.

The Duchess of Sussex and Harry are due to visit the UK for a number of different charity events.

In her interview with The Cut, Meghan is understood to have said that Harry feels he has "lost" his father following the couple's split from the Royal Family.

Speaking about the comment, Rae said: "To turn around and say Harry told me 'I lost my father' is a disgraceful thing to say in my view."

Sources close to the Sussexes are believed to have clarified the comments made regarding Harry's relationship with his father, saying they are instead in regards to Meghan's relationship with her own father.

Continuing to criticise the Sussexes, Charles Rae has hit out at claims that the pair are a "breath of fresh air" for the Royal Family, and have instead become a "stink bomb".

He said: "This breath of fresh air that I welcomed as many others did has turned into a real stink bomb.

"She's accused the British press of using the N-word against her own son, Archie, well I'm sorry Meghan, put up or shut up, you name the person you think used the N-word."
