King Charles III should consider bringing Meghan Markle and Prince Harry "back into the firm the way they want”, a royal expert has claimed.
Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior royals in 2020 before moving to the US to live.
Before stepping down, the pair had asked Queen Elizabeth II if they could be “half in, half out”, performing some duties as well as fulfilling their own contracts.
But the idea was rejected by the former monarch, leading to the Sussexes officially stepping down.

In recent days, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the pair have been seen taking part in tributes to the former monarch alongside other members of the Royal Family.
While in an address on Friday, King Charles III “expressed his love” for Harry and Meghan as they “continue to build their lives overseas”.
The King said: “I want also to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas.”
And while Harry and Meghan are expected to return to the US following Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, royal expert Kristen Meinzer says she hopes the King will consider welcoming the pair back into the royal fold.
Ms Meinzer said: "I'm glad that Charles, in his first speech as King, took a moment to say he loved Harry and Meghan.
"And I hope Charles considers bringing them both back into the Firm the way they originally wanted: half in, half out, and earning their own salaries doing their own outside work.
"That would be in keeping with Charles' own desire to streamline the monarchy while also having enough bodies to do all the engagements required of the Crown.
"I also hope that Charles and Wills continue to follow Harry and Meghan's lead, talking about difficult issues like racism, misogyny, colonialism, and the plight of refugees—both of them mostly stayed quiet on these issues before Harry and Meghan opened the floodgates, and I think the world really wants them to continue evolving and speaking up," she told Newsweek.
