A man has collapsed and died after falling ill at an Aldi supermarket as emergency services rush to the scene.

The incident took place at the store on East Road in Irvine, Scotland shortly before 6pm today.


Emergency services attempted to help the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said in a statement: “We received report of a man having taken unwell within a shop on East Road in Irvine around 5.55pm on Wednesday May 25, 2022.

“Emergency services attended, however, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death is not suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
