Four people have been stabbed, one to death during one violent day in London on Thursday.

The incidents took place in separate regions across the capital, including Wembley, Tooting and Islington.

Meanwhile, a woman was found dead with stab wounds at a home on Globe Road, Bethnal Green.

Police say they were called to the address around 4pm on Thursday over concerns for the welfare of a woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 4.06pm on Thursday, March 24, to concerns for the welfare of a woman at a residential property in Globe Road, E2.

"Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and found a 40-year-old woman with stab injuries.

"She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.

"The death is being treated as suspicious and detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command have been informed.

“Enquiries are ongoing and a crime scene remains in place. At this early stage of the investigation, no arrests have been made."

This incident came under an hour after police were called to reports of people fighting outside Tooting Broadway Underground Station, where a man was taken to hospital with a stab injury to his chest.

Police said: "We were called at 3.12pm on Thursday, March 24, to reports of people fighting outside Tooting Broadway Underground Station.

"Officers attended and carried out a thorough search of the area, however, no suspects or victims were identified.

"A man, aged his 30s, subsequently attended a South London hospital with a stab injury to his chest. His condition was assessed as not life-threatening. Enquiries suggest the injury was as a result of the incident outside Tooting Broadway Underground Station.”

A 17-year-old boy was also rushed to hospital in a separate attack in Northampton Park, Islington shortly after 5.30 pm on Thursday.

The teenager’s injuries were deemed not life-threatening and he was later arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon.

In a frantic day, police were also called to the Asda supermarket on Forty Lane, Wembley at around 5.30pm.

On arrival, officers found a man in his 20s suffering from stab wounds, with his injures deemed as life-threatening.

Police have asked: "Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 5453/24Mar or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
