A 29-year-old woman is currently was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident in which a vehicle allegedly struck pedestrians in central London's Soho district.
Metropolitan Police officers arrested the driver at the scene on Argyll Street - a bustling thoroughfare near Oxford Street that houses numerous nightclubs, bars and the London Palladium theatre.
The suspect faces multiple charges including grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving and drink driving.
Emergency crews were called to the location at approximately 4.30am this morning after receiving reports of a car colliding with people on foot.
Detectives have stated that the incident is not considered to be connected to terrorism.
Three people were injured in the collision, with a woman aged in her 30s transported to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
A man in his 50s suffered injuries described by police as life-changing.
A third victim, also a woman in her 30s, received treatment for minor injuries.

DCI Alison Foxwell, from Specialist Crime South, has issued an appeal for witnesses to contact investigators.
She said: "As our enquiries continue, our thoughts are with those injured and their loved ones."
The senior detective noted that despite the early hour, establishments in the vicinity remained open, meaning numerous people may have observed the events.

"I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision, or any activity prior to it that they feel may be of relevance, to come forward," DCI Foxwell added.
"The information you have - however minor you believe it may be - could be of crucial importance to investigators."
A witness told The Sun: “the whole street is blocked off around the London Palladium with crime scene tape.
“Looked like a car was parked in front being photographed by police”.
