Wiltshire Police have issued a statement saying they are in attendance at a field near Alton Barnes in Wiltshire are receiving reports of a light aircraft performing an emergency landing at 5:20pm this evening.
Police say the plane landed safely in the field with both occupants reported as uninjured, with officers remaining on the scene.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they had deployed five appliances to the scene of the incident, with crews from Pewsey, Marlborough and Devizes along with a technical rescue team from Trowbridge and Land Rover pump from Ludgershall.
A witness told Wiltshire999s that they thought the engine had cut out mid-flight: “As it was out of sight, it sounded like the engine had stalled then I heard it on again but it was well out of sight", they said.
