A “number of children” have been injured in a horror bus crash into a bridge that saw the roof of the vehicle torn off.
Emergency services sped to Spendmore Lane in Coppull, Lancashire, after the double-decker bus careered into a low bridge this afternoon.
Paramedics, police and firefighters were on the scene shortly after 12.30pm.
Police said Spendmore Lane will remain "closed for some time" from the junction of Lancaster Street to Regent Street while officers carry out investigations.

Regarding the injured, Lancashire Police have said they had been taken off the bus and are currently being assessed by paramedics.
“Thankfully, (the injuries are) thought to be relatively minor at this time,” the force added, Lancashire Live reported.
Terrifying photos from the crash showed the white double-decker bus with its roof completely sheared off.
The remainder of the roof could be seen in a crumpled heap behind the vehicle.

Police and other emergency services could be seen attending the scene as the bus sat below a forboding 'low bridge' sign.
Chorley Police also said: "We anticipate that the road will be closed for some time, whilst we assess the situation.
"In the meantime, we’d recommend looking for an alternative route and driving carefully, leaving plenty of extra time to get to your destination.
"We’ll keep tabs on what’s happening and we’ll update you here once the road is open. As always, thank you for your patience and stay safe if you’re out and about today."
