A 19-year-old man has been jailed after assaulting Sainsbury's staff while attempting to steal beer in a wheelchair.
CCTV footage showed Davey Brown, of Winch’s Garth in Staplehurst, Kent, hurling stolen cans at store security as they attempted to prevent him from leaving the Sainsbury’s on Station Road.
The video, from June 3, showed Brown being wheeled by an accomplice through the supermarket's drinks aisle, where he could be seen stashing two crates of beer underneath a coat on his lap.
When challenged by a security guard as they attempted to leave without paying, Brown leapt up from the chair and threw punches at him.
After a brief scuffle, the 19-year-old could then be seen hurling beer bottles, cans and other items at staff.
A further Sainsbury’s employee was injured by one of the projectiles, with one of the staff members “requiring hospital treatment” after the incident.
Brown then fled the scene, but was tracked down by Kent Police patrols 30 minutes later.
Police bodycam footage revealed he then launched a vile tirade of threats and abusive comments at the officers.

“I couldn’t give a f*** what you got. Gun, taser, you name it. I couldn’t give a f*** what you’ve got,” the 19-year-old raged.
“I will break you in an instant, I’d love you to take that uniform off and stand over here with me and I’d break every bone in your face,” he threatened.
Kent Police confirmed, earlier that day, his crime spree had started when driving to the shops as he struck a stationary vehicle in Four Elms Road, Edenbridge.
As the victim got out of her car, Brown drove at her before speeding from the scene through a red light.

He would later be charged with robbery, affray, two counts of damaging property, common assault, using threatening words and behaviour and using a motor vehicle on a road without insurance.
Brown pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court and was sentenced on November 6 to three years and one month’s imprisonment. He was also disqualified from driving.
Investigating officer, PC Ricky Strong, described Brown as: “A violent man who endangered another motorist, attacked a security guard and their colleague, and made threats to attending police officers.”
“He left a man with injuries requiring hospital treatment for simply carrying out his job.

“A custodial sentence means Brown will be unable to put any other members of the public at risk for some time,” PC Strong added.
A 17-year-old boy was also arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
He was sentenced on July 12 to serve six months’ imprisonment in a young offenders’ institute.
