Katie Amess has vowed to "not give up" in her campaign for a public inquiry into her father's murder after being refused by Shabana Mahmood.
Following a meeting with the Home Secretary, the daughter of murdered MP Sir David Amess declared Britain is "living in dangerous times" and remains determined to get justice.
Speaking to GB News, Ms Amess recalled the events of her meeting with Ms Mahmood: "She didn't grant the full inquiry, and when I pushed her as to why we aren't allowed the full inquiry, she said it has to be a 'mass failing of the state'.
"So my point back to her was, well, is the murder of a MP in his constituency surgery not considered a mass filing of the state? That's an attack against democracy and everything that our country would stand for, so that answer didn't really make sense to me.
"She said that we can do another review, so that will now be a review of a review of a review of a review."
Criticising the latest review which took place, Ms Amess said: "The last review that I did with them was completely inadequate. Lord Anderson did it and he had no answers whatsoever, because with the review, you're not forced to speak to people.
"So the coroner said, I'm not speaking to you, I'm citing judicial independence, I don't have to speak to you. Counter-Terrorism police didn't want to speak to him. Secret meetings took place between the coroner and counter-terrorism, and no notes exist for those meetings, they aren't being forced to come up with the notes. They just said, no, we don't remember what happened."
Ms Amess added: "So that's why I want a full statutory inquiry. She did try to assure me that this review would go deeper, and that they would appoint somebody else to do it. So I'm going to work with the Government on this because their position at the moment is 'absolutely not'.

"But if I go down this road and do another review and I'm not happy, I'm just going to come back again and say, okay, when is the inquiry?"
Asked by host Andrew Pierce what her feelings are of her father's killer, Ms Amess told GB News: "I don't really think about him, I think he's just so evil. And I'm very religious, like my dad was, and so I just think God will take care of him. I don't need to worry about him.
"What I focus on is my father getting answers and preventing this happening to somebody else. Because the fact that we're going into the fourth year since this happened to my father, and we don't have any answers as to why the man was let go. They had one coffee with him in a McDonald's, took 20 minutes, deemed him a great guy and let him go."
She continued: "There was no six month follow up, there was no 12 month follow up. They weren't getting back to the school that referred him to say what the updates were. He was just let go for six years to plan this attack. The only reason that I'm sitting here with you today is because my father was an MP.
"What about all the other people that Prevent let down and that have been killed by terrorists, and their poor families don't have a platform to stand on because their father wasn't in politics. So it's very important for me that I focus on being a voice for those people and trying to help other people who aren't in the situation that I am, where I can come on shows like GB News."

Accusing the Government of "fobbing her off" and trying to make her "go away", Ms Amess said: "They just try and fob you off, they say 'lessons have been learned, things have changed'. And they tried to say with Prevent that things are changed.
"But then Southport happened after the horrible atrocity that happened to my father, so they just say these things to get you to go away and give up. But I am my father's daughter, and I'm not going to give up and I'm not going to go away."
Asked if she believes her father would want her to carry on campaigning, she agreed: "Oh, for sure. When I'm crying and I feel like I can't go on, I just think of my dad, and I think he's absolutely cheering me on from heaven, and he's saying, don't give up, go get them. Hold people accountable and then help others.
"Because all my dad wanted to do was help people, that's why he met with the man that day. He thought he was a constituent that had a housing issue. My dad wants me to help other people, and also, I just want to say the general public has been absolutely amazing. They keep me going. They send me thousands of messages of support, and it's installed my faith in humanity that people can be so kind."

Ms Amess told GB News that she will 'not give up' on demanding answers for her father

Demanding answers from the Government, Ms Amess told GB News: "We need to find out who made those decisions to let the guy go, why they made those decisions, and to prevent it happening again. Because right now they're just saying there's nothing to see here, move on. No, there is something to see.
"A member of Parliament was killed, and we are all at serious risk of other terrorist attacks happening. If I was a terrorist watching this story, and they won't even do an inquiry for a member of Parliament, I'd be thinking, 'well, this is great, they're not really taking terrorism seriously'.
"And I said that to the Home Secretary, and I think we need to. We're living in dangerous times, and I think we need to buck up our ideas and realise that.
"Everybody should absolutely be treated the same, and that is my point. Why are we not being treated the same? You've given inquiries to some people and then to other people you've not given inquiries. So I don't know what they're playing at, but I'm not going to let anybody get away with it.
"And even if I get to 100 and I'm on my deathbed and I'm still going on about this, I will get the answers. I won't give up."
