The Duchess of Cambridge has travelled to the country on a fact-finding mission to learn more about its status as a world leader in the early year development of children.

Kate has arrived in Copenhagen ahead of a two-day visit to Denmark.

Kate travelled by a scheduled flight to the capital city, but her plane is reported to have been delayed by 30 minutes.

The Duchess is due to visit the University of Copenhagen to meet researchers from the Copenhagen Infant Mental Health Project which looks to promote the mental wellbeing of, and relationships between, infants and their parents.

Kate will travel to the Copenhagen Children's Museum to meet first-time parents who are benefitting from the Understanding Your Baby research project, which involves more than 200 health workers.

Kate will also visit the Lego Foundation PlayLab at University College Copenhagen to join students, who are training to be early-years professionals, in a series of activities.

The Duchess' trip marks the first time she has taken her work from Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood to an international stage.

She appears to be paying tribute to Denmark with her choice of outfit, as she donned a red blouse on top of a white blouse as she greeted British Ambassador to Denmark Emma Hopkins, the colours of the Denmark flag.
