Nigel Farage has claimed John Bercow "schemed and plotted" to take the position of Speaker of the House of Commons.
An independent report has upheld 21 bullying and harassment complaints against former Speaker John Bercow and labelled him a “serial bully” and a “serial liar” during his years in the chair.
He stood down in 2019 after a decade in the role and was replaced by Sir Lindsay Hoyle.
Mr Bercow, who has now been banned from holding a parliamentary pass, described the investigation as a “travesty of justice” and insisted he has nothing to say sorry for.
Now, Nigel Farage has said Bercow has "got his political comeuppance."
Speaking to Colin Brazier on GB News he said: "He demeaned the position of speaker.
"For 800 years the speaker was traditionally dragged reluctantly out of the crowd. ‘It’s your turn, it’s muggins turn to do your bit and put something back’.
"This man schemed and plotted.
"For 800 years the speaker has been fiercely mutual, even during the English Civil War… this man utterly politicised the role, especially over Brexit.
"When we say bullying, we don’t mean one or two nasty comments, which we’re all capable of making - but we apologise and we move on.
"This was a speaker who wasn’t neutral, he broke that 800 year rule, he was openly political in the way that he behaved and what he did.
"Everybody knew about these very serious charges, the establishment chose to literally turn a blind eye, to keep him in his place, as though there was one man that could stop Brexit it was Bercow
"He shouldn’t be promoted, he shouldn’t go to the House of Lords, the fact that his pass has been removed is a good thing."
