Mr Clarkson has urged police forces to tackle crimes 'that matter' instead of 'watching a group of ecoherberts who've glued themselves to the road'

Jeremy Clarkson says his daughter won’t go to the local shopping centre because it’s “permanently full of gangs with bats and blades”.

Mr Clarkson, a father of three, has urged police forces to tackle crimes “that matter”.

The 62-year-old, whose daughter lives in London, said that the “gangs” can “do whatever they want” because they “know for a fact” that the police won’t come.

The television presenter added that forces are too busy trying to catch people “with a bit of powder” or “watching a group of ecoherberts who've glued themselves to the road".

Mr Clarkson added that people can "no longer wear a watch when you go into town".

While some young people "now believe that paying for a phone is optional”.
