Doctors have warned that by 2027 Hannah may be too unwell to fly

A father has shared his mission on GB News to give his 17-year-old daughter, Hannah Breeden, one last magical holiday to Disney World, after doctors warned she may soon be too unwell to travel.

Hannah was born prematurely and had to spend her first days on a ventilator in ICU. Doctors warned her parents not to get their hopes up, saying she might not survive long but Hannah has gone on to prove everyone wrong.

She defied predictions, coming off the ventilator, learning to eat and drink, and surviving a liver failure at just five days old.

Hannah has muscular dystrophy and doctors have said she won’t be able to get a certificate to fly from 2027 onwards.

Determined to give their daughter one last magical experience, Hannah’s family have launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for a dream holiday to Disney World, her final chance to travel abroad.

Simon Breeden, Hannah's father, told GB News: "I know the figure seems high, but the initial quote, due to Hannah’s disabilities, is a little over £12,500.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

"The total is higher because of specialist travel insurance, which currently comes to around £15,600, as is often the case for complex medical needs.

"I understand this is a lot and it’s a difficult time for everyone with the cost of living so high. But even a small contribution can make a difference."

Speaking about what this would mean to his daughter, Mr Breeden explained: "I’m sure she’ll be talking about it for months to come.

"Hannah has slight autistic traits, which means she can become very fixated on things.

"For example, at Christmas, she already asks Alexa every day how many sleeps are left because she loves counting down.

"With this holiday, she’ll have another countdown to enjoy, eagerly crossing off the days and looking forward to seeing all her favourite characters at Disney."

The family is hoping to raise £20,000, as Hannah’s medical conditions mean costs are far higher than usual.

Hannah’s mother also has muscular dystrophy, and Hannah’s devoted father had to give up his much loved job in order to become a full-time carer for both his wife and his daughter.

He said: "My wife, Hannah’s mum, worked as a nurse at a local hospital when she began noticing some health problems.

"To be honest, it sounds harsh, but her boss tried to have her dismissed on the grounds of capability after occupational health assessments.

"She was eventually medically retired following genetic testing, which revealed she has myotonic dystrophy, one of the main forms of muscular dystrophy. This meant she was forced to give up her dream job as well.

"Over the years, there have been many struggles, but somehow we’ve managed to get through it all."
