A Rotherham grooming gang abuser has been denied parole after a “torturous” wait for his victim, GB News can reveal.
His teenage victim was raped at a flat in the South Yorkshire town after being plied with drink and drugs. She was just 14 or 15 years old at the time of the abuse.
The woman who survived the abuse in the 2000s had to wait over a decade for justice, with the National Crime Agency investigating the abuser from 2015.
Asghar Bostan was convicted of rape in 2018 and jailed at Sheffield Crown Court for nine years.
But his victim, Elizabeth (not her real name), was left terrified when he was granted parole in August 2022.
Beastly Bostan was then sent back to prison earlier this year after one of Elizabeth’s pals spotted him in an area that breached his strict licence conditions.
He was then swiftly arrested and recalled to prison.
But Elizabeth had been frustrated waiting half a year for a parole decision to be made, with many meetings and delays along the way.
“The process was endless,” she told GB News, adding: “I felt sick constantly waiting to be told if the man who abused me and kept me in a flat for 10 weeks was going to be allowed out again.”
The brave survivor said she was “so relieved” with the decision finally being made.
“It’s a sign that the system can work if all the agencies come together and get it right.
“I never should have had to wait for so long, but it’s such a relief that he is back behind bars where he belongs.”
In correspondence seen exclusively by GB News, a probation service official told Elizabeth the Parole Board had decided against releasing Bostan and that he would not be allowed in an open prison.
Bostan had previously been moved to an open prison without Elizabeth being informed, which caused the survivor shock and pain.
He is now set to be in prison until February 2027, serving his full 9-year sentence.
A spokesman for the Parole Board said: “We can confirm that a panel of the Parole Board refused the release of Asghar Bostan following a paper review.

GB News“Parole Board decisions are solely focused on what risk a prisoner could represent to the public if released and whether that risk is manageable in the community.
“A panel will carefully examine a huge range of evidence, including details of the original crime, and any evidence of behaviour change, as well as explore the harm done and impact the crime has had on the victims.
“Parole reviews are undertaken thoroughly and with extreme care. Protecting the public is our number one priority.
“Under current legislation, he will be eligible for a further review in due course. The date of the next review will be set by the Ministry of Justice.”
