GB News was Britain’s most-watched news channel on local election results day, outperforming both Sky News and the BBC News Channel as audiences turned to the channel for the very best coverage and analysis of the May 7 vote.
Latest BARB data shows GB News recorded an average audience of 185,700 viewers on Friday May 8, placing it 56 per cent ahead of Sky News, which recorded 119,000 viewers, and almost double the BBC News Channel audience on 93,200.

GB News’ strong election day performance follows the latest monthly audience figures, which show the channel also led its competitors throughout April.
During April, GB News recorded an average audience of 89,500 viewers and a 1.59 per cent share, placing it ahead of Sky News, which recorded 86,200 viewers and a 1.53 per cent share.
The figures also capped a strong 10-month period for GB News, during which the channel consistently outperformed both Sky News and the BBC News Channel.
Between July 2025 and April 2026, GB News averaged 90,300 viewers and a 1.47 per cent share, ahead of the BBC News Channel’s 83,900 viewers (1.37 per cent) and Sky News’ 72,000 viewers (1.18 per cent).
