GB News is celebrating its position as Britain’s number one news channel for a sixth consecutive month.

Latest BARB data shows the People’s Channel outperforming both Sky News and the BBC News Channel throughout December, having also led the market in July, August, September, October and November.


Last month, between 6am and 2am, GB News achieved 87.7k average viewers, comfortably ahead of Sky News on 58.3k and the BBC News Channel on 74.5k.

Across the schedule, GB News programmes consistently attracted larger audiences than its competitors.

On weekdays, GB News Breakfast averaged 103k viewers, almost double Sky News’ 54.5k, with the BBC News Channel trailing on 29.7k.

The same pattern was reflected at weekends, with Saturday Breakfast averaging 98.3k, compared to 62.1k on Sky News and 44.6k on the BBC News Channel. On Sundays, GB News Breakfast drew 94.2k viewers, ahead of Sky News on 71.9k and the BBC News Channel on 54.1k.

The Camilla Tominey Show also retained its number one spot on Sunday mornings, averaging 147.5k viewers in December, beating Sky News (125.0k) and the BBC News Channel (132.1k).

On weekday mornings, Britain’s Newsroom led the market with 117.2k average viewers, compared to 69.5k for Sky News and 86.0k for the BBC News Channel.During weekday prime time, Dewbs & Co continued to dominate, averaging 124.8k viewers, well ahead of Sky News (69.4k) and the BBC News Channel (92.4k).

Patrick Christys Tonight also remained number one, with 84.9k average viewers, compared to 59.7k on Sky News and 83.9k on the BBC News Channel.

Overall, GB News led decisively during weekday prime time (7pm–11pm), outperforming Sky News by 71 per cent and the BBC News Channel by 12 per cent in December (90.0k vs 52.8k and 90.0k vs 80.4k respectively).
