The Birmingham Dogs home has thanked the People's Channel for the support

A dog charity website crashed after a huge influx of GB News viewers went to donate following an appeal on Farage at Large.

The Birmingham Dogs home has thanked the People's Channel for the support after increased number of donations.


Speaking on his show, Nigel Farage said: "The big charities are well organised, well funded.

"But sometimes it's the smaller charities that maybe struggle to raise the money, and we've picked a local charity that we want to try and help if we can possibly here on GB News and we have picked the Birmingham Dogs home."

Appearing on GB News alongside dogs, Reeva and Betty, Rachel Haley said: "We've had over 2100 already this year, and December we're still getting them in.

"We have been full to capacity throughout the year, this year, since last December. So we just want to say thank you to everyone who does support local charities like us."

Following the segment on Farage's show, the charity received so many donations that the website crashed.

The charity has thanked viewers who have been described as "heartwarming".

"Thank you to everyone who visited our website to donate, and also to those who have personally visited us to drop of physical dog items."

Alongside cash donations, the charity said people can help their dogs by donating items such as washing powder and bedding.

Frost added: "We just remind people what can they do if they want to help. So we always ask for donations of anything of dog items, things as simple as washing powder.

"We wash a lot of bedding every day, money, donations. You can donate through our website birminghamdogshome.org.uk You can pop in and visit us and come and see our dogs and offer your support that way."
