Errol Musk, father of tech billionaire Elon Musk, has spoken out strongly against the jailing of Lucy Connolly, describing the decision as “making no sense” and slamming the state of affairs in England today.
Supporters of Lucy Connolly have questioned the severity of the sentence, arguing that the punishment does not fit the crime.
Musk said: "The jailing of that young woman makes no sense to me at all. I mean, I just can't believe it. I can't believe that this is England."
"I can't believe a lot of the things that I read that Starmer and company are doing."

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Lucy Connolly, the 42-year-old wife of a Conservative councillor, was sentenced to 31 months in prison for inciting racial hatred following a social media post about the Southport attacks.
The former childminder posted on X hours after Axel Rudakubana went on a knife rampage at a Taylor Swift-themed holiday club, murdering three little girls.
Her post read: "Mass deportation now, set fire to all the f*****g hotels full of the b******s for all I care, while you're at it, take the treacherous Government politicians with them.
"I feel physically sick knowing what these [Southport] families will now have to endure. If that makes me racist, so be it."
Connolly deleted the post less than four hours later, but it had already been viewed 310,000 times.
Three Court of Appeal judges threw out her application last week, meaning she will not be released before August.
The White House has confirmed it is "monitoring" the Lucy Connolly case in an escalation of tensions between the Trump administration and the British Government over freedom of expression.
A spokesman for the State Department said: "We can confirm that we are monitoring this matter."
"The United States supports freedom of expression at home and abroad, and remains concerned about infringements on freedom of expression," the spokesman added.
The case was raised with Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, as part of concerns about what campaigners describe as "draconian hate speech laws" across Europe.
Charlie Kirk, a Maga influencer and ally of Donald Trump, told GB News he would raise Connolly's case with the Trump administration, saying: "I'm going to bring this up to Marco Rubio. I'm going to send him a text."
