UK players automatically receive a Millionaire Maker code printed on their ticket

A British man has revealed his first purchase after becoming an overnight millionaire after winning £1million in the EuroMillions draw.

The lucky winner, identified only as Mr A, from Kent, matched the winning raffle code in the March 28 draw.

He also pocketed an additional £2.80 on his ticket.

The dad-of-two revealed his first treat after the life-changing win was a weekend away to celebrate his newfound fortune.

The delighted winner said: "This win is amazing and will allow me to travel more and buy a new home. I feel incredibly lucky."

Mr A has chosen to remain partially anonymous, releasing only limited details about his windfall through partial publicity.

For every EuroMillions line played, UK players automatically receive a Millionaire Maker code printed on their ticket.

This creates at least one new millionaire in every draw.

Andy Carter, senior winners' advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, congratulated the Kent winner on his good fortune.

"This lucky dad from Kent has become a millionaire overnight, what a life-changing prize," he said.

"We're so happy that this prize will have such a positive impact on the winner's life, with a new home and lots of travel on the cards - huge congratulations!"

Mr A opted to celebrate his windfall with a modest first purchase - a weekend getaway - before making plans for more substantial life changes, which include purchasing a new home and fulfilling travel aspirations that were previously out of reach.
