The man allegedly shouted 'death to Trump'

Passengers on board an easyJet plane have tackled a man allegedly shouting about a bomb and saying "death to Trump".

The alleged incident on Sunday was caught on camera and posted online which showed the man standing in the aisle of a packed plane and appearing to yell "bomb the plane".

The man then allegedly declares "death to America" and "death to Trump" before yelling "Allahu Akbar" multiple times.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said the force had received a "report of a man causing disturbance on a flight arriving in Glasgow" about 8.20am on Sunday.

“Officers boarded the plane on its arrival and a 41-year-old man was arrested and remains in custody," the spokesperson added.

"At this time we believe the incident was contained and that nobody else was involved."

Police are continuing to enquire about the alleged incident.

"We are aware of videos circulating online and these are being assessed by counter terrorism officers," the spokesperson said.

An EasyJet spokesperson said flight EZY609 was travelling from Luton before it was met by police on arrival in Glasgow.

"They boarded the aircraft and removed a passenger due to their behaviour onboard," the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said the passenger was removed "due to their behaviour onboard".

"EasyJet's crew are trained to assess all situations and act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other customers is not compromised at any time," the spokesperson added.

"The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is always easyJet's highest priority."

According to The Sun, the alleged offender was cuffed before being hauled off the plane by around half a dozen police officers.

Passengers were left terrified

In another video, the man could be heard allegedly saying "I wanted to send a message to Trump ... he's in Scotland".

The US President is currently on a four-day visit to Scotland and is due to meet with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Monday.

A witness who asked not to be named said they woke up to the man coming out of the toilets at the back of the aircraft.

"He literally came out of the toilet (allegedly) shouting 'Allahu Akbar' with his hands above his head," the passenger said.

"Then he (allegedly) said 'I've got a bomb' - at this point people were confused."

The passenger said they thought the man was joking.

But, it was when the man allegedly pushed crew members when things changed and the man was tackled to the ground by other passengers.

"He was fighting a bit on the floor, but at this point he knew he'd f***** up," the passenger said.

A few passengers held the man down as the pilot "announced he was making an emergency landing".

"Some of the passengers were crying because they were shaken up," the passenger added.

"It was just a bit surreal."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said charges were yet to be laid against the man.
