A teacher has been banned from his profession for life after he "mocked Islam" at a school in Dorset.
Alex Lloyd was the head of sixth form at The Bishop of Winchester Academy in Bournemouth when he made comments during a lesson about "honour killings".
The science teacher admitted to telling a Muslim student "she would have been killed" for her outfit had she been in Iran.
He told another to "pay attention" because the topic was particularly relevant in "their culture".
"Mocking" the pupils' religion, the 51-year-old sarcastically referred to Islam as the "religion of peace" during the discussion.
He told one student to "imagine this was your mum being killed" and was accused of targeting certain pupils during the lesson, using their family members to talk about what would happen if they committed adultery.
Mr Lloyd told two students that honour killings were "happening mainly because of [their] culture".
One student claimed the incident made them "feel insecure" and accused the teacher of "using racist stereotypes against a corner of us in the class".
Another said that classmates became "visibly upset" because their religion was "mocked".

|Mr Lloyd also admitted in a statement of agreed facts to telling one student that "female genital mutilation happens exclusively in your culture".
Although positive testimonials described Mr Lloyd as "a nice teacher and good person" and "liked by many students", the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) found "no evidence that Mr Lloyd was remorseful or that he regretted his conduct".
His comments were found to have "targeted and reinforced discriminatory stereotypes, which did not form part of the learning material" by a misconduct panel.
The report said: "Mr Lloyd sought to justify the comments he made to pupils during his lesson by saying they were factual when questioned during the school's investigation.

Students of The Bishop of Winchester Academy said they were upset by the comments made by Mr Lloyd
|"The panel noted that Mr Lloyd admitted all of the allegations in the statement of agreed facts.
"However, the panel did not see any evidence that Mr Lloyd understood the nature and gravity of his misconduct or that he showed any empathy regarding the impact of his actions on others."
Sarah Buxcey, the chair of the panel, ruled that he will be barred from teaching indefinitely at any school, sixth form college, relevant youth accommodation or children's home in England.
A spokesman for The Bishop of Winchester Academy said: "The Bishop of Winchester Academy has been made aware of the decision by the Teaching Regulation Agency to prohibit Alex Lloyd from teaching.
"We acknowledge the outcome of the TRA hearing and support the decision that has been made.
"The individual concerned is no longer employed by the academy and has no involvement with our students or school community.
"The welfare, safety, and education of our students remain our highest priority. We continued to uphold the highest professional and safeguarding standards expected of all staff.
"As this matter has now been concluded by the TRA, we will not be making any further comment."
