The former American president says he believes King Charles will do a 'fantastic job'

Donald Trump says there is "only one little disagreement" he has with King Charles over an environmental issue.

Speaking to Nigel Farage on GB News, Trump said regardless of the dispute Charles "is a wonderful guy" and Camilla "is going to be terrific" as the country's new Queen.

Discussing the King, whose Coronation is set to take place in just days, the former president claims he knows the Charles "very well" but disagrees with him on the topic of wind turbines.

The American politician explained that he thinks the wind powered machines are "extremely inefficient" and suggested they "really hurt the environment" in contrast to Charles who strongly approves of them.

"I got to know him very well. He does love the environment. I will tell you he's an environmentalist to the nth degree and that's okay," Trump said.

"He likes windmills," Farage replied.

"He does, so we can have one little disagreement. I'm against them. I think they're extremely inefficient. I think they really hurt the environment," Trump responded.

"When you look at them going all over the oceans and all over the plains and then you see these things and you know when you look at them in 10 years and they're all rotted out and rusted.

"Then you have to buy new ones and the new ones never come and then they shut them off and they're sitting there rotting.

"Look, I'm not a fan and it's very expensive, the most expensive form of energy and they don't even they don't even make it if you don't subsidise them you don't have to subsidise energy."

Trump has previously shared his hatred of wind turbines, and in 2019 even claimed that the structures decreases property values and the noise they emit causes cancer.

While talking to Farage, the businessman also took a swipe at ex-First Minister Alex Salmond for implementing wind turbines near to his Trump International golf links in Scotland.

Three years prior to Trump buying the Scottish land, a new offshore wind farm had been proposed which he said would ruin the view from his course.

Trump said: "I dealt with Alex Salmond and I got along great with him, actually, until the windmills started coming all over Scotland.

"They said you're hurting Scotland, you're destroying your environment. Frankly, the windmills are, I think a great disturbance to this country and to a lot of other countries, very expensive energy."
